The Air Jordan 13 “Starfish” is a January 2021 colorway of Michael Jordan’s thirteenth signature shoe that references the popular “Shattered Backboard” motif. Officially known as “Starfish,” this fiery hue of orange has appeared on various Air Jordan 1s since Jordan Brand’s introduction of the “Shattered Backboard” theme in 2015. The “Shattered Backboard” story salutes the orange, black, and white team uniform colors of Stefanel Trieste, the Italian League basketball team Michael Jordan suited up for during an overseas exhibition game in 1985. As for this design, crisp white dotted leather appears on the upper and smooth white leather marks the toe. A holographic emblem can be found on the collar and an embroidered orange Jumpman is stitched onto the white leather tongue. A Starfish suede mudguard and heel add a burst of color to the design. Black midsole walls and a black liner finish off the look. Release date: January 16, 2020.
